SOA-CON-ARB draft musings #2

We had a draft last night over at Mike Ongkeco's place. It was sponsored by Richmond Tan in an effort to get some practice in for the upcoming Pro Tour. The draft was great! Since Richmond sponsored the draft, he would be keeping all the cards that we drafted; raredrafting is useless.

Here are the people who joined the draft:
Rey Abella
Rey Estacio
Paolo Go
Vic Lim
JT Porter
Francis Profeta
Morris Tan
Richmond Tan

So what were we playing for? Everyone agreed on a Php 100 ante, the payout would be 400-200-100-100.

I tried to build a straight RG aggro deck but fell 5 playables short. I had to bring in a few white cards and 2 plains to make up for the lack of playables.

Francis Profeta was my opponent in the final round playing for 1st. He won with an insane Grixis deck that had all the spot removals that you would wish for and a "few" bombs in Malfegor, Defiler of Souls, and Nemesis of Reason.

We played a few more games after I lost. His deck was just unbeatable. We played a total of around 7 or 8 games and I won only 1.
